Rivery Reveries!

Sitting on the lovely porch
Watching you change colours
I feel so amazed and mused!!

When the sun is just awake
You have a sheepish blue look
Still the reflection of clouds
Gives me a warm morning wish!!

When the sun at its peak vigor
You have a glittery silver look
You remind me of rich anklets
Announcing my entry to new home!!

When the sun is about to sink
You have a serene green look
Birds returning to their nest
Deep solitude tucks my soul!!

When the sun is asleep at nest
Why am I not able to see u
Fireflies humming the lullaby
Have I ever come in your dreams!!

Sitting on the lovely porch
Watching you change colours
Ever changing colors of life
I feel so amazed and mused!!

Life of Pi- My Review!!

Author meets an eldery person in the Indian Coffee House at Pondicherry & during a chit chat over tea he gets the substance for his next novel ,the stranger conveys that this story will make him believe in God, and Yann Martel writes ‘Life of Pi’.This is my small attempt to review that great novel.

In the first part of the novel, we are introduced to a family running a Zoo at Pondicherry, their son Piscine Molitor Patel the protagonist of the novel named so after a Famous French Swimming Pool. Piscine Molitor Patel chooses the nickname Pi during a school change as he was tired of hearing the manipulated Version of his name ‘Pissing Patel’. He describes the reader his life at the zoo, where his father gives instructions to his 2 kids not to consider the wild carnivores as pets by showing them the goat eaten up by the lion as soon as it is put into the den. During a trip to Munnar, Pi visits a beautiful church and gets interested in the principles of Christianity, starts reading Bible. His mother being a voracious reader, he gets introduced to many books, starts following all the three religions Hinduism, Christianity and Islam at a time.

Later his father decides to move to Canada, and the family along with the animals of the zoo are put in a Cargo ship and during their journey, the tragic shipwreck happens.Pi along with a hyena, a Zebra, Orangutan are saved in a Life boat. How the little Pi witness the animals killing each other for Survival, and how he survives with the Bengali Tiger ‘Richard Parker’ forms the second and exciting part of the Life of Pi.Author has described each day of the Little Pi in the life boat in minute detail, which keeps the reader worried about the little 10 year old boy till the end.

In the third part of the Book, two guys from Maritime Department meet Pi and after hearing this story, doubts Patel’s adventurous story with the animals and Pi tells them another story where he’ll replace the animals with humans. After hearing the story with the humans, interviewers tell Pi that they liked the story with the animals more. Thus the end of the story.

After reading the whole novel,i believe each reader will like Pi’s story with animals more than the story with humans.Though fiction, story has something in it which keeps the reader tied up to it .I believe every book should be free of cynicism and should provide the reader some insights about life. Little Pi who follows three religions at a time in Pondicherry tells us that all religions eventually teaches us to love one  another. His survival for 227 days in a Ship with a Tiger makes us think "Fear of failure is the main enemy in life and if one gets rid of it, he can make his mind work in the proper direction and can take bold decisions and can act upon it". Altogether Life of Pi gives the reader a refreshing thriller.

Rains..!!

String between the heaven and earth
Being played by the breeze buzzing around,
Thunder and lightning prior
Giving a welcome note to the music,
Ending the note of the music
By the cry of the frogs,
Rains always make it rain inside u...

Tears of the Mother Earth rolled on us
To sanctify us from all sins,
Though tears it elates a fresh soul
It rejuvenates a wretched mind,
Bereaved by her kid's sins
Sheds tears to cleanse them
Rains always make it rain inside u...
